Telehealth at Choice Point Psychology
Flexible, confidential care—wherever you are
At Choice Point Psychology, we recognise the importance of accessible, flexible care. Telehealth lets you access professional psychological support from the comfort and privacy of your home, workplace, or another suitable space. Sessions are delivered via secure Zoom video or by phone—confidential, comfortable, and just as effective as face-to-face.
What is telehealth & how we deliver it
We offer therapy via secure Zoom or by phone so you can meet with your psychologist from a place that suits you. You’ll receive the same evidence-based care and personalised support as in clinic.
- Booking: Schedule a telehealth appointment as you would any session—contact our clinic and we’ll set a time.
- Before your session: For Zoom, we’ll send a secure link; for phone, we’ll call you at the booked time.
- During the session: We use the same approaches and adapt to your goals, strengths, and communication style.
Benefits of telehealth
- Convenience: No travel time—join from home or work.
- Accessibility: Ideal across NSW/Australia, and for mobility or transport barriers.
- Flexibility: Easier to fit around family, school, or work commitments.
- Continuity of care: Keep appointments when away or during health restrictions.
Is telehealth right for me?
Telehealth suits most therapy types—including individual counselling—and can be helpful if you live outside our local area or find in-person sessions tricky. Some therapeutic techniques or parts of an assessment may still be best done in person. We’ll discuss the best fit for you during your initial consultation.
Medicare & rebates
Telehealth sessions may be eligible for Medicare rebates with a valid Mental Health Care Plan. Please check with our clinic or Medicare regarding your specific eligibility.
Preparing your space for telehealth
Choose a quiet, private location
- Use a room where you can close the door to minimise interruptions and noise.
- Let family or housemates know your appointment time to maintain privacy.
Set up lighting, seating & equipment
- Ensure good lighting so your psychologist can see you clearly on video.
- Choose a comfortable chair or sofa that helps you stay relaxed but focused.
- Charge your device or keep it plugged in; test internet, microphone and camera in advance.
Reduce distractions & have essentials ready
- Silence notifications and keep other devices or pets out of reach.
- Have water, tissues, a notebook, and any relevant documents on hand.
- Headphones can improve privacy and audio quality.
